Sant Martí Sarroca
At its origins in mediaeval times, Sant Martí took shape around the castle and the church, on land that was a frontier between the Moors and the Christians. Today it lies nearby, on a plain where in prehistoric times a large lake existed, and the La Roca hill was joined to the mountains until great earthquakes caused it to fall away to open up a path for the Pontons riera (seasonal river) and caused the lake to disappear.
