St Joannes Winery

For those who are passionate about wine culture, 35 min from Barcelona, the Sant Joannes estate offers the opportunity to enjoy its natural, landscape, historical and artistic resources with all your senses.

The visit to the St Joannes winery aims to satisfy motives such as: tasting and getting to know the wine, learning about winemaking, experiencing the environment, appreciating the architecture and being in contact with nature.

The Casa Gran, set in its own vineyards, is one of the oldest farmhouses in the “Alt Penedès”, dating back to 1453, it has items of particular interest, such as its kitchen and traditional fireplace.

Together with the adjoining Sant Joan Bautista Romanesque hermitage, built in the eleventh century and enlarged during the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, the farmhouse is part of a very beautiful architectural site.

Nature lovers will enjoy touring the vineyards on foot, whilst at the same time relishing exceptional views of Montserrat Mountain.
