The Water Interpretation Centre of Torrelavit, a new cultural and tourism in Penedes.

The Water Interpretation Centre of Torrelavit narrates the close relationship between the Riudebitlles river with its tributaries, and the history and landscape of Torrelavit. Here you can go into the importance of the river has had in people's lives and the uses of the water: domestic uses, with springs and public sinks to clean clothes, agricultural uses, like irrigation, wells, dams and canals, and the uses in the industry, with the construction of twelve paper mills up to the seventeenth century. 

During your visit enjoy a museum site with historic photographs and audiovisual, which is divided into three thematic sections.

The river. Watch the river became the hub for urban settlements and water supply in the region.

Water. Going on a trip for the paper industry that was in town, and the uses that have given humanity the role throughout history.

Torrelavit and River Road. Discover the region through scenic and cultural assets Torrelavit initiative and River Road.
