Self-guided route to discover Art Nouveau in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia
The Art Nouveau trace is present in thirteen buildings of the town. Recovery of the county’s wine production, after the phylloxera disaster at the end of the 19th century, meant the establishment of a social and cultural infrastructure that welcomed the arrival of the Art Nouveau cultural movement.
In the proposed itinerary, you can explore the main streets of the urban center on foot. During the walk, you will be able to observe different types of architecture, from homes to industrial constructions through public and civic buildings.
Next, it is worth going one kilometer outside of town to visit the Cavas Codorníu winery, listed as a National Historic-Artistic Monument, and end the visit with a delicious glass of Cava.
Optionally, the route can be completed by visiting the rural neighborhood of Can Catasús, which has a couple of Art Nouveau-style residential buildings and a beautiful views of the vineyards
