Route des pierres sèches à Montmell
The Dry Stone in Montmell
Montmell is a mostly mountainous territory where forests abound, which were formerly areas of vineyards. The margins of Dry Stone allowed them to take advantage of the forests for the cultivation of these vineyards and coexist near them. Thanks to this, rural life in this area became popular and spread throughout the municipality.
Route of the Dry Stone in Montmell
Due to the mountainous nature of the territory, this circular route is of moderate level and requires prior preparation, since there are multiple slopes along the entire route that can be dangerous if you do not go with caution. In this itinerary, there are multiple barracks with a large number of margins hidden within the forest along with cisterns to store water. All the barracks have been restored thanks to Mr. Rovira, the Bisbalencs Hikers and the Kampi who can of the Juncosa de Montmell.
